Senior Pet Care

To offer your elderly pet the best opportunity of enjoying the longest, healthiest, and most comfortable life possible, AspenTree Animal Care advises bringing them in for checkups and blood testing twice a year. By doing this, we will be able to keep a closer eye on your pet’s aging process and spot any disorders that could accelerate it in the early stages.

The blood test is one of the most important parts of a senior exam. These blood tests, commonly referred to as “senior panels,” examine the thyroid, liver, pancreatic, kidney, and liver functions as well as the red and white blood cell counts. Your veterinarian might suggest obtaining a chest x-ray to make sure the heart is a normal size and that there are no masses in the lungs.
